Job Description

:

The Director, Marketing & Communications is responsible for the development, integration, and execution of the organization's brand, communications, storytelling, and growth marketing initiatives. This role will be responsible for elevating Oceans' reputation as a leading provider of behavioral health services, supporting patient volume growth, engaging key stakeholders, including the communities served by the organization, and advancing awareness of the behavioral health needs of the communities the organization serves. The Director, Marketing & Communications will work with agency partners, ensuring all messaging and tactics reflect the organization's mission, values, and clinical excellence. The position will also play a key role in connecting marketing strategies to business development, payer engagement, and local market growth goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, data-informed marketing strategy aligned with the organization's growth, brand awareness, and service line priorities; support the SVP of Marketing & Brand Strategy in strategic planning and organizational alignment efforts.
  • Lead and manage the execution of a brand refresh across all communication channels, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity throughout the organization.
  • Serve as brand guardian, maintaining quality and consistency in all written, visual, and digital content across the organization.

  • Build, mentor, and manage a new, high-performing marketing team, including specialists in digital marketing, communications, design, and marketing operations.
  • Oversee the execution of integrated digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, paid media, email marketing, and CRM-based outreach, to drive patient acquisition and grow brand reach.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage referring providers, hospital partners, and community-based organizations supporting growth marketing and outreach objectives.
  • Manage vendor and agency partnerships, including those responsible for digital campaigns, creative content production, and performance analytics.
  • Implement and oversee marketing analytics tools to monitor campaign performance, optimize patient acquisition funnels, and measure ROI across all marketing and communications channels.
  • Lead execution of internal and external communications strategies, ensuring cohesive messaging for patients, families, employees, physicians, and external partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, business development, clinical leadership, and executive leaders to support enterprise-wide initiatives, support local market growth efforts and ensure organizational consistency during transitions.
  • Drive brand integration strategies related to mergers and acquisitions, including onboarding, repositioning, and alignment with corporate branding.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental goals and organizational priorities.

Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated campaigns that drive measurable growth and engagement.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or a mission-driven organization strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Advanced project management, budgeting, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Proficient in digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, analytics tools, and content management systems.
  • Passion for behavioral health and commitment to mission-focused work.
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently and produce high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Work Environment:

Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
